Course Description

The lecture (held in English language) briefly introduces the basic properties of radar systems and the underlying physical principles. It focuses on various aspects important for the design of Radar Systems, e.g. Radar Scattering Matrix and Radar Cross Section (RCS), Polarimetric Radar, bi-/multi-static and passive radar systems, Antenna Arrays and Multi-Channel Radar, and illustrates typical radar system architectures for dedicated applications, e. g. weather radar, automotive radar, maritime radar.

Prerequisites for participation are a relevant bachelor's degree, fundamentals of RF and Microwave components / circuits.
